Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American performer and actress. She started by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed music that tackled questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Later, she broadened her fans to Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents in Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came via the trumpet. Following her Jazz and classical training She delved into hip-hop as a teen. In her studies, she majored in journalism, and women's studies in college even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus on music. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also included popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef or the winking city tour New York Bitche$. The final track was closely linked to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide which was published in 2015. Following a career that was successful as a musician, she decided to take on the character of actress. She's appeared in movies such as Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018, with several high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by"In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
